Personal Training Castle Hill

Personal Training for the New Year : With the New Year comes resolutions, of which one of the most popular that we make to ourselves is to lose weight, get in better shape and be more active.  While most all of us who make this verbal resolution at the start of each year have the best of intentions, the commitment and overall enthusiasm tends to fade after just the first few weeks.

There are several reasons why we lose interest and even more excuses we tell ourselves to justify why we haven’t reached goals set or failed to see noticeable progress.  The first step isn’t signing up for a gym membership and spending gobs of money on new workout gear.  The first step should be making an honest assessment of where you are and what you can do, not what you can’t do or what you want to do.  Next, establish a tangible goal.  So many people just want to lose 5 kilos but that’s not always the best way to go about getting in the best of shape.  Based on a percentage factor, 5 kilos may be too much, or to little.  Body fat percentage and other goals also need to be considered like keeping up with your actively growing children or grandchildren.  Other people like to set goals like completing a 5k or half marathon race, or riding a century on a bicycle.  Whatever your goal is, make sure it’s one you can and want to meet.  Getting there is half the battle but it should also be fun and enjoyable too!

With so many variables in becoming a more active and better you, how can you get not just answers, but the right answers for you?  With a personal trainer to help guide you through the evaluation stage, nutritional suggestions and guide-lines and physical activities, you can rest assured that results will happen much quicker and will be more likely to stay with you then attempting to do this alone.  It’s easy to start training; sadly it’s even easier to give up.  The role of a personal trainer isn’t only to guide you through work outs and make suggestions on what food you should be consuming, but to motivate and encourage you when you don’t think you can go any further, or worse, when you don’t want to.

The New Year is a great time to start training, but don’t confine yourself to just getting better for this year, improve yourself for the rest of your life!  Not only will a personal trainer help evaluate where you stand now and help define a plan to get you to your goals, they are there to motivate, encourage and answer questions along the way.  Simply put, reaching your goals isn’t as simple as a 12-week plan; it’s an entire lifestyle change that will have a positive impact on the rest of your life.

Start now; moving forward is the only option.  Use this New Year as a springboard to live a happier, healthier and more fun lifestyle that you can enjoy for decades after decades. All with the help, motivation and encouragement a personal trainer can provide for you.
